Rahu- Ketu-Sun-Moon-Venus-Jupiter-Mercury-Mars-Saturn. This series
does not reflect the attributed evil or munificent nature of the
planets.
Laws of Indian astrology apparently do not take into account factors
such as gravitational force, and spatial distance between the
planet in question and the Earth at that given moment. Mutual
angular position is deemed to be most important. Among the western
astrologers, Rheinhold Ebertin (Astrological Magazine Jan. 1983)
in his own system of astrological prediction gave not only importance
to the exact angular position of the planets in respect to the
Earth, but also gave equal weight to distance between the planet
and the Earth. We believe, that over and above these two factors
the mass of the planet also should be taken into consideration.
The series of descending planetary influence can be explained
if one accepts the following formula.
Planetary influence on Earth = Electromagnetic
strength (energy)
(intrinsic strength) Planetary mass X orbital distance from the
Earth
When this formula is applied to individual astrological planet
the following picture is obtained :
Rahu: Rahu is last and final point where the solar
wind gets disturbed and changed as it crosses the lunar orbit
laden with lunar dust, before entering into Earth's magnetic field.
Rahu is located nearest to Earth and does not have any mass, hence
it is deemed to be most influential.
Ketu: Ketu has got all the characters of Rahu, but
it can only influence the magnetotail (speculating that energy
of magnetotail reverts back to the Earth) hence it is weaker than
Rahu.
Sun: The Sun is the greatest source of energy within
the solar system, at the same time its mass is large and its distance
from the Earth is medium, therefore its intrinsic strength is
considered to be lesser than only that of Rahu and Ketu.
Moon: The Moon is not a source of energy coming
to the Earth exept when it reflects the solar energy. The Moon's
mass is not much, but being located nearest to Earth its gravitational
pull is most effective on the Earth's surface. Because of this,
Moon is considered beneficial only when it reflects solar energy
to earth and malevolent in other time.
Venus: Venus does not generate much dipolar magnetic
energy, but having a thick gyrating cloud cover which is creating
and transmitting electric energy, and at the same time having
low mass and being located near the Earth, it is considered to
have strong 'astrological influence.'
Jupiter: The Jupiter's mass is enermous, and its
orbital distance from the Earth is also great, still because of
its extremely high energy dispersion rate in the form of 10,000
million kv. of electric discharges into the interplanetary space.
The Jupiter is placed above Mars in the 'scale of influence'.
Mars: Mars is a controversial planet both for the
astrologers and astrophysicists. The astrologers consider Mars
to be a very 'powerful planet', at the same time it is placed
near the tail-end in the series of influence. The Mars and the
Sun is supposed to create an extremely high energy ' combination'.
Mars represents the maleficient side of the Sun. Astrophysicists
are not sure whether the Mars has got its own energy field or
not, though it is definite that on the surface of the Mars, there
are a number of magnetic 'hot-spot'.
Mars is our nearest neighbour and its mass is also small in comparison
to Jupiter and Saturn, still it is kept in a lower rung in the
hierarchical ladder of strength because of its small intrinsic
energy.
Saturn: The much maligned planet in the Indian astrology,
Saturn is described as old, decrepit and lazy. Saturn is supposed
to be an energy depleter and cause of delay or even failure due
to lack of sufficient endeavour. This planet is also supposed
to be generator of energy- sapping diseases. According to astrophysical
data, Saturn's energy field is effective only in its immediate
vicinity. Gravitational pull of this primarily solid planet is
enermous, also it is located at a great distance from the Earth,
hence it stands at the end of the series of planetary influence.
